Extremely robust, comprehensive recruitment and vetting procedures are implemented to ensure that all adults working with the children are suitable to do so. This includes rigorous referencing and enhanced DBS checks.

We understand the value to the children of enhancing staff skills and gaining external ideas.
It is essential that key skills are kept up to date and therefore staff training in the following is regularly reviewed:
- Paediatric first aid
- Safeguarding children
- Food hygiene
- Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Behaviour Management
Debbie Knowlton, Director/Owner, NVQ Level 4
Debbie bought Alphabet Corner in 2008, having worked in the child care industry since becoming an apprentice at the age of 16.
Laura Smith,
Nursery Manager, NVQ Level 3
Laura joined Alphabet Corner in 2012 as a Level 3 NVQ qualified nursery practitioner and has since progressed to becoming the manager.
Emma Young,
Nursery Supervisor/Office Administrator,
BTEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing
Emma has worked at Alphabet Corner since 2001 after working in the industry since 1994 as an apprentice.
Roma Muscat-Fleet,
Deputy Manager,
NVQ Level 3
Roma has worked at Alphabet Corner since 2007, achieving her NVQ Level 3 childcare qualification. Roma has since progressed to becoming Deputy Manager of Alphabet Corner.
Molly Binstead,
Deputy Manager,
NVQ Level 3
Molly joined Alphabet Corner as an apprentice in 2014 and has achieved both her NVQ level 2 & 3 childcare qualifications. Molly has since progressed to becoming Deputy Manger of Alphabet Corner.
Rachel Hand,
Deputy Manager,
NVQ Level 3
Rachel joined Alphabet Corner in 2012 as a Level 3 NVQ qualified nursery practitioner, Rachel has since progressed to becoming Deputy Manager of Little Alphabet.
Brad White,
Senior Room Leader,
NVQ Level 3
Brad joined Alphabet Corner as an apprentice in 2012 and has achieved both his NVQ Level 2 & 3 childcare qualifications. Brad has since progressed to becoming a senior room leader for the pre-school room.
Lauren Cooper,
Senior Room Leader,
NVQ Level 3
Lauren joined Alphabet Corner as an apprentice in 2012 achieving her NVQ Level 3 childcare qualification. Lauren has since progressed to becoming a senior room leader for the toddler room.
Carla Curtis,
Nursery Practitioner, Foundation Degree in Early Years Care and Education
Carla joined Alphabet Corner in 2009 whilst studying for her Foundation Degree in early years care and education at university. Carla works throughout all rooms in Alphabet Corner and Little Alphabet.
Denise Barnes,

NVQ Level 3
Denise has worked at Alphabet Corner since 2004 as a NVQ Level 3 nursery practitioner working primarily in our pre-school room.

Thea joined Alphabet Corner as an apprentice in 2013 and has achieved both her NVQ Level 2 & 3 childcare qualification. Thea works primarily in our toddler room.
Connor Fletcher,

NVQ Level 2
Connor joined Alphabet Corner as an apprentice in 2014 and has achieved his NVQ Level 2 childcare qualification. Connor is currently studying to achieve his NVQ Level 3 childcare qualification. Connor works primarily in our toddler room.
Callum Rogers,

NVQ Level 2
Callum joined Alphabet Corner as an apprentice in 2016 achieving his NVQ Level 2 childcare qualification. Callum works primarily in our pre-school room.
Ellie Scott,
Nursery Practitioner,
NVQ Level 2
Ellie joined Alphabet Corner in 2018 as an apprentice achieving her NVQ Level 2 childcare qualification. Ellie is currently studying to achieve her NVQ Level 3 childcare qualification. Ellie works primarily in our baby nursery Little Alphabet.

Jess joined Alphabet Corner in 2017 as an apprentice achieving her NVQ Level 3 childcare qualification. Jess works primarily in the pre-school room.
